TikTok can make a person question many things, including their ability to learn choreography and if their reaction to trying kombucha would be worth documenting. But one viral video from makeup artist Charlotte Roberts—who goes by @CharlotteLooks—has got me rethinking everything.
The talented MUA released a step-by-step tutorial on how to capture the contoured cheekbones, curated eyebrows, and symmetrical hair flop of one Timothée Chalamet.
A pair of green contact lenses and nearly 4,000 comments on the video affirm: Chalamet’s pristine mug has been eerily recreated.
And I shall never look at him the same way.
There’s something complicated about such a spot-on replica of Chalamet. I mean, if this makeup artist were to wear, say, a glittery hoodie or bedazzled harness, color me convinced that she’s the real article. (Meryl Streep definitely thinks she’s shared Wendy’s with this person on the Little Women set.)
How am I ever supposed to verify a chance run-in with Timmy outside Tompkins Square Bagels (one of his regular NYC haunts)? Will it take seeing Zendaya by his side in aisle four of Bed Bath and Beyond to be believed? And what am I to do with the sneaking suspicion that each time I sob to Call Me By Your Name that this video will flicker in my subconscious forevermore?
These are all feelings I’ll have to collect and vent in a support group of some kind. And until Chalamet publicly acknowledges his TikTok doppelganger, ala Ariana Grande, I wholeheartedly believe she’ll be working as his body double when he wants to eat a bacon, egg, and cheese on everything in peace.
