Blake Lively came out for New York Fashion Week, and she did it wearing a black and white, Annie Hall-esque menswear-inspired look to Michael Kors’ fall/winter 2020 show. The former Gossip Girl star paired a white blouse with what appears to be a second black blouse or ascot with white polka dots underneath and a checkered black vest, black slacks, and boots at the show. Her hair was down in her signature loose blonde waves. Basically, if Serena van der Woodsen wanted to make a statement during New York Fashion Week in 2020, she’d probably dress like this. Fashion week is New York’s favorite time to peacock.
Lively wasn’t the only VIP at the Michael Kors show in suit pieces. Dove Cameron and Lila Drew also wore them:
Lively, by the way, has been open to reprising her role as Serena before. “It sort of all depends,” Lively told Variety in April 2017. “Would I do seven years of the show? No, because it’s hard work and I’ve got my babies, and I don’t want to be away from them that much. But I’ve just learned in life you never say never. I’m looking to do something that I haven’t done yet, not something that I did. But would I do that? Who knows—if it was good, if it made sense. We had so much fun shooting and living and working in New York City.”
In January 2020, she told E! that at this point, she isn’t involved with HBO Max’s upcoming revival of the show. “I don’t know. I’m not a producer. I’m not involved. You gotta call them,” she said when asked when the project would be happening.
