It’s no secret that Senator Ted Cruz didn’t sit well with a lot of people during the 2016 presidential election, including Donald Trump. Which is why many find it odd that the president will be heading to Texas in October to endorse Cruz, who is at risk of losing his Senate seat to congressman Beto O’Rourke.

Among those outraged over the clearly opportunistic partnership was political group USA Latinx, who hatched the idea of paying for a billboard of one of Trump’s tweets attacking “Lyin’ Ted.” The group created a GoFundMe page that caught the attention of Parkland survivor David Hogg, who tweeted out his support for the project.
The Washington Post reports that the page has raised nearly $10,000 with Hogg’s help and reached their goal to display Trump’s tweet reading, “Why would the people of Texas support Ted Cruz when he has accomplished absolutely nothing for them. He is another all talk, no action pol[sic]!”
