Everyone Thinks Brienne Is Gonna Die on Next Week’s Game of Thrones

Spoilers for Game of Thrones Season 8 below.


Brienne of Tarth becoming a Knight of the Seven Kingdoms was, undoubtedly, the best part of last night’s episode of Game of Thrones.

Seriously, have you ever seen such unadulterated joy in your life?

But as many on Twitter have pointed out, happiness is never more than a brief interlude between horrors on Game of Thrones, and many fans are speculating Brienne’s great triumph will end with her death in next week’s episode.


As we all know, next week’s episode of GoT will chronicle the Battle of Winterfell, and see the Army of the Living take on the Night King’s Army of the Dead. There will undoubtedly be casualties, and watchers are already placing their bets:

This is a particularly bleak prediction. Poor Pod.


Brienne also gets the most dramatic scene in the teaser for next week’s episode, shouting, “Stand your ground!” to the army at Winterfell in the final moments of the trailer. This doesn’t necessarily imply death, but it would be a fitting prelude to her demise.
