Idris Elba and His Girlfriend, Sabrina Dhowre, Had a Secret Wedding in Morocco

The secret wedding is a favorite move of celebrities who want to keep their love lives to themselves—for as long as possible. Last Friday, Idris Elba joined the secret wedding crowd (a group that includes Beyoncé and Jay-Z, Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively, and Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth) when he married his girlfriend of two years, Sabrina Dhowre.

Per British Vogue, the couple tied the knot at the Ksar Char Bagh hotel in Marrakesh, Morocco. Dhowre wore two dresses by Vera Wang, while Hemsworth wore a suit by Ozwald Boateng.

The event might have been on the down low, but it was certainly not modest. Per People, the couple didn’t hold back on the celebrations.

There was a huge festive party with camels and fire dancers and dancing,” a source told the magazine.

The clues that a wedding was coming soon were all over Instagram. In March, Dhowre posted a boomerang of her and her bridesmaids celebrating at her bachelorette party at Amangiri Resort at Canyon Point, Utah.

“Had the most amazing weekend with the most amazing people. I love you all so much ❤️,” she wrote on the caption of the photo then, adding the hashtag for her couple name with Elba, #Idrina.

Elba and Dhowre met in 2017 while filming his movie The Mountain Between Us in Canada. Dhowre, who was Miss Vancouver in 2014, reflected on their love story to People‘s Jess Cagle.

“Falling in love while making a movie about falling in love is pretty special,” she said.

Elba proposed in February of 2018 when he got down on one knee at the Rio Cinema in London, during the premiere of his film Yardie.

The guy seems to be a fan of a little surprise.
