Meghan Markle and Prince Harry aren’t the only royals out at the theater today. Kate Middleton has just arrived at her morning engagement at the Royal Opera House. Kate is meeting with the Costume Department.
The Duchess of Cambridge “will find out more about the scale of the department’s work and their use of textiles before hearing from The Royal Ballet dancers about the design of their costumes,” the Palace tweeted ahead of the event.
Kate re-wore her magenta Oscar de la Renta peplum suit for the occasion with her hair down in her signature soft curls:
She first wore the suit in February 2017 when she and Prince William attended the UK Guild of Health Writers conference.
Kate’s visit comes after the Duchess was reported to have taken Princess Charlotte to see the Royal Ballet perform The Nutcracker ahead of Christmas last year. According to People, Charlotte and Kate got to see a pre-rehearsal performance by the Royal Ballet.
This is Kate’s second event this week and her second engagement of the year. Kate did her first 2019 engagement yesterday when she visited King Henry’s Walk Community Garden in Islington. For the casual event, during which Kate worked in the garden, the Duchess of Cambridge wore a J.Crew sweater, Dubarry tweed coat, skinny jeans, and combat boots. The Palace announced then that Kate will help design and build the Royal Horticultural Society’s Back to Nature Garden for the Chelsea Flower Show in May.
Kate’s solo event this evening comes before Meghan Markle will start the day visiting the Mayhew, an animal rescue charity and one of Meghan’s newly announced patronages. Meghan and Harry additionally did their first 2019 joint event on Monday when they visited Birkenhead. They’ll go to Royal Albert Hall tonight to see the premiere of Cirque du Soleil’s Totem show, which will support Sentebale.
