To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before‘s Lana Condor had her own fairy-tale night tonight, making her first-ever Met Gala appearance. The actress walked the carpet solo. (Her co-star Noah Centineo was not at the Gala.) Condor wore a giant millennial pink tulle dress for her first night at the ball.
She teased that she was going to the Met Gala on Saturday, when she shared an Instagram Story of herself en route to Manhattan. Condor has been shooting To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before‘s sequel in Vancouver. “I’ll see you soon, NYC,” she captioned the airport photo.
Condor made her debut at the Vanity Fair after party this year, another prestigious event, and the Golden Globe after parties in January. She took her boyfriend Anthony De La Torre with her.
Condor told Cosmopolitan earlier this year how her and Noah Centineo’s chemistry in To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before affected her real-life relationship. She said initially, she and Centineo encouraged the dating rumors to promote the film.
“Noah and I definitely encouraged the speculation,” Condor said. “But it’s because we believe in the story and the characters and we genuinely love each other. You can truly love someone in a very platonic way.”
But Torre then got heat on social media because of it, with some fans claiming he wasn’t worthy of Condor. “It was so hurtful for both of us,” Condor said. “This is supposed to be a good thing. Why are you coming for someone who has no part of this story? If you say you support me, why would you hurt someone I love?” She thus began talking about Torre and their relationship in interviews to help combat it.
