Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, who have made headlines for their toned-down PDA during recent engagements, did hold hands at tonight’s Your Commonwealth Youth Challenge Reception—even if it was just briefly, as they were walking in, as Harper’s Bazaar pointed out. In the video that royal reporter Richard Palmer took, their hands can be seen together for one second toward the end.

As reported earlier, there’s no protocol prohibiting hand-holding at royals’ work engagements; it’s left to the couple’s discretion how much PDA they feel is appropriate for each event. “It’s up to each and every royal and royal couple about how affectionate they are,” Beaumont Etiquette‘s founder and director Myka Meier, a British-American trained by a former member of the Queen’s household, told ELLE.com. “There’s no protocol that tells them they can’t hug or kiss or touch. There’s no rule book like that. Each senior member of the royal family is trusted to make the judgement calls of what’s appropriate and when. It’s all about being trusted to make those calls on their own.”
