If the name Dirty John sounds vaguely familiar, that’s because it’s the title of a critically acclaimed true crime podcast and story by the LA Times‘ Christopher Goffard. In the six-episode audio series, Goffard tells the story of a man named John Meehan, who isn’t exactly who he seems. He becomes entangled with successful single mom Debra Newell and, no spoilers…but let’s just say things don’t exactly work out between the two of them.

Goffard’s reporting is also getting the small screen treatment, courtesy of Bravo. In Dirty John, the forthcoming limited series, American Horror Story‘s Connie Britton and The Time Traveler’s Wife‘s Eric Bana will star in the gripping, twisty story of Debra Newell and John Meehan. Britton tweeted the trailer on Monday, saying: “Here we go! Official #DirtyJohn trailer. The show premiers Nov 25 so Thanksgiving is HANDLED! Can’t wait for y’all to see it!”
The series premieres Thursday, November 25 at 10 P.M. and will consist of eight hour-long episodes. Now, please excuse me while I glue myself permanently to the edge of my seat. Thanks!
