Almost one year ago on November 27, Kensington Palace announced that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were engaged. A lot has happened since that day—they got married, did their first 16-day tour abroad as working royals, and Meghan is now expecting their first child. But they will spend the one-year anniversary of their public engagement far apart—only because of work.

Harry will be in Zambia on both the 26 and 27, Kensington Palace announced yesterday on Twitter, “at the request of the Foreign Office,” it wrote. “As part of the visit The Duke will attend a UK in Zambia reception to celebrate UK-Zambia relations, and will visit Burma Barracks to attend an event commemorating WWI and WWII Zambian veterans.” Harry will also “attend events for The Queen’s Commonwealth Trust, of which he is President,” and “visit Bongo Hive, Zambia’s first technology and innovation hub.” Meghan will not be joining him during his events.

Still, Meghan and Harry have been out relatively frequently the past two weeks. Last week, they did four private events: a commemorative dinner for NGO African Parks, his father Prince Charles’s 70th birthday party, a visit to the BBC as part of Anti-Bullying Week, and a fall dinner for the Royal Foundation with Prince William and Kate Middleton. And last night, Meghan and Harry celebrated their six-month wedding anniversary at the Royal Variety Performance.

As big as making their engagement public is, that six-month wedding anniversary is surely a bigger milestone, along with the anniversary of their real, private proposal that happened a “few weeks earlier” than their announcement, over engagement chicken. And only Meghan and Harry know that exact date.
