One of the perks of having a royal engagement streamed online is that little revealing moments you don’t typically get see are brought into the limelight. Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton’s affectionate greeting, for example, at the Westminster Abbey Commonwealth Day service became the singular move that put tabloid feud rumors to bed (at least this week). And now a second Meghan moment is making headlines: the moment she teared up during service.
Why was she crying? According to Hello!, she was overcome with emotion hearing a cover of a Snow Patrol song. And not just any Snow Patrol song, either. Alfie Boe performed an a cappella version of Snow Patrol’s “Run,” and that really resonated with the Duchess of Sussex.
Here’s the original version to take in:
Meghan actually had a pretty busy day yesterday. The Duchess of Sussex not only attended the Westminster Abbey service with the Queen, Prince Harry, Kate Middleton, Prince William, Prince Charles, and Camilla the Duchess of Cornwall. She made a visit earlier in the day to Canada House with her husband.
Meghan wore a white patterned Victoria Beckham dress to Westminster Abbey, but she started her day in a green Erdem coat and dress, embellished with black sequins. The Canada House visit had extra special meaning to Meghan, who called Toronto her home while she was shooting Suits.
Harry and Meghan started their relationship long distance when she was based in Canada, and he was based in London. He would make low key visits over there to see her.
